Porta Coeli Museum {Puerto Rico}

Last week, I made a quick (and unexpected) visit to one of my hometown's museum. I was just passing by with my mom, and we decided to go in. I haven't shared many pictures from Puerto Rico here on the blog, so I guess this is the perfect excuse. The museum is named Porta Coeli (in Italian) which means Heaven's Doors. This is not an usual museum-- it's really simple and small. It's a religious art museum which was originally a church.

We had a great time and we learned a lot about our history. Visiting the museum was not part of our plan for the day so, I wasn't prepared with my camera... but I'm going to share with you some of the photos I took with my phone.

I want to thank our museum guide Mr. Guido Barletta, who besides answering all of our questions, emailed me some photos from 1930-1950. Here's one of them!

I love visiting museums! How about you?

DIY: Washi Tape Letter {and key covers}

Remember when I included washi tape on My Wish List? Well, I finally started my collection! and I already started doing some washi tape DYI's :) Today I'm going to show you the first two things I've done.

For the Washi Tape Letter, I bought a decoration letter at Kmart for $2.50, and the washi tape at Office Max for $1.00. So, you can make this Washi Tape Letter for less than $4.00.

Materials

Wood letter
Washi tape
Scissors (or a X-acto Knife)

Photo Tutorial

Step by Step

Step 1: start covering the letter with the washi tape.

Step 2: do not cut the tape at the middle, keep covering the letter until the end. That way, the design won't get mess up. (It all depends on the washi tape design).

Step 3: keep covering the letter with the washi tape. Be sure to follow the tape design.

Step 4: cover the entire letter with the washi tape, as shown in the photo.

Step 5: turn the letter around and cut the excess of the washi tape.

The Results

You can hang your Washi Tape Letter at your bedroom door...

You can place it on you night table, or on your desk!

Did you like it? I made this letter for my bedroom door but now, both of my sisters want one for their doors :)

Now, for the Washi Tape Key Covers, you just need washi tapes and a X-acto Knife. Follow the same steps as for the letter but, you need to cover the key on both sides. You need to do one side first, and then the other one.

Did you liked these DIY's? Are you also addicted to washi tape? Share with me your washi tape projects! I would love to keep making projects with those beautiful tapes :)
